calculating the time step using Lipschitz constant B

Hi Chris,

I am interested in checking my model time step theoretically regarding the CFL condition and the Lipschitz
constant B. In addition to what is written in the scientific manual, is there any other hint for it?

I am particularly asking because the baroclinic CFL condition and the Lipschitz constant, both need a velocity value in their formula, while I wouldn't have any velocity value prior to running the model. Even though I would have measured velocities from the lake, which velocity value of the water column (or which formula) would make sense to use in a stratified water body?

Cheers,

Behnam
